About Me

 My name is Kyle Hughes.  I am 26-years old and a resident of Citrus County, Florida.  I'm attending OSU virtually to major in Political Science and International Studies, with a minor in Japanese.  I'm hoping to use my experience and education in order to pursue a carrer in Japan helping build up communities however I can.

I haven't really taken speech or communications as a legitimate class.  As someone who is on the autism spectrum, social interaction has always been a lot more difficult for me and something I aspire to improve upon, so any sort of communications class will be beneficial to me.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, creative writing, studying Japanese, and spending time with family.  My family and I also enjoy outdoor activities such as horseback riding, swimming, hiking, etc.  I have a 1-year old godson who is partly named after me and I hope to lead a good example for him to to follow.

Me

My family and I have a love for animals, but especially horses.  We travel to St Petersburg, Florida and had the privilege to swim the horses in the beach.  Here is a picture of my mom that I took when we were heading out.

If you enjoy scuba/snorkeling, (above picture) Devil's Den is a must see in Central Florida.  It is one of my top five favorite places to swim at.

The Withlacoohee State Trail, aka Rails to Trails is 46 miles of stunning outdoor scenery with historical facts along the trail.  This trail starts in Dade City, Florida and extends just south of Dunnelion, Florida.  The trail is great for walking, bike riding, etc.  My family and I enjoy the outdoors and we like to explore Rails to Trails as often as possible.

If you enjoy aquatic activities, Florida has plenty to offer, but specifically in the city of Homasassa, you can swim with the manatees in the springs.  I would suggest wearing a wetsuit, as I nearly froze to death last time.
